Customer Success Manager
Ensures your customers achieve their goals with your product: adoption, usage value, retention and expansion.
Why this hire matters.
In a recurring model, the sale doesn't end at signature: it replays at every renewal. The CSM owns that equation — one point less churn or more net revenue retention is often worth more than a whole quarter of acquisition, and it compounds year after year. Their job: get the customer to the outcome they bought for (successful onboarding, real adoption, demonstrated value), detect risk signals before they become cancellations, and prepare the ground for expansion. The classic organizational trap: turning CSMs into glorified support or upsell hunters — either way the function loses its purpose. Hire proactive, structured profiles as comfortable with the customer's numbers as with the relationship.
